Going to get my hair cut is always a bit of an indulgence; and this Saturday I'm doing just that. And then I'm going to an Artists Open Studios in Belmont. After that it's on to San Francisco - where I plan on eating dinner at Rose Pistola restaurant in North Beach.
Dessert at Rose Pistola was an affogato with (Guittard) chocolate pieces on top. It was very nice of them to provide a chocolate version of this great but very simple dessert (espresso and vanilla gelato). As I was eating dessert, the musician Carlos Santana walked by and gave us diners in his path a look and a small head nod, as if to say - that's right, it's me. Santana has reinvented himself over the years and I hope he keeps doing so, inspiring others along the way.
