It was a beautiful summer day for breakfast in the backyard -- perfect for a cold, refreshing Coconut Cocoa iced tea, and a Chocolate Coconut and Chia "breakfast" cookie, sprinkled with a little sea salt. I could have spread this cookie with a little coconut jam to sweeten things up and intensify the fresh coconut flavor, but I was fine without the extra sugar. (Coconut jam is great for tarts - or as a filling for small dark chocolate cups.)

The Coconut Cocoa tea from The Republic of Tea (Novato, CA) was made with both carob and cocoa powder (and "natural chocolate flavor"), as well as caramel malted barley, dates, roasted chicory and coconut flavor. This tea was better than expected -- in part because it was very natural tasting. It was great iced, and would have been good with a splash of milk as well.

Today's tea was part of a Republic of Tea assortment box with five different cacao-related flavors. The Cuppa Chocolate Teas box contained 4 bags each of five different tea flavors: Coconut Cocoa, Red Velvet Chocolate, Strawberry Chocolate, Peppermint Chocolate, and Banana Chocolate flavors.

Today was Day #4 of Chocolate and Coconut Theme Week.
