This morning I found a single red rose blooming in a wall of yellow roses. I have no explanation for how it might have gotten there. But, every once in awhile you slip down some delicious, unusual rabbit-hole of disbelief around a flower, or a flavor, like today. (Immaculate Confection? Maybe.)
The generously-sized Rose Petal Caramel (with chocolate) from Obsessive Confection Disorder (Fairfax, CA) was wrapped simply in brown paper, twisted at each end. Don't let its humble appearance fool you. It was saturated with flavor -- with a yummy, gooey (and vegan) caramel base at the heart of this confection, and bursts of lovely rose floral and chocolate flavors carefully incorporated throughout. It was a bit messy to eat, but totally worth it.
I love floral flavors. For others who do, I recommend these.
