Today I was messing around in boats -- specifically a kayak in the San Francisco Bay. I packed some trail mix with me in a waterproof bag. Aptly named, "A Handful of Everything," this Archer Farms* trail mix contained sweetened banana chips, chocolate chips, dried sweetened mango, coconut, pineapple, peanuts and cashews. (*The Archer Farms brand is part of Target Corporation (Minneapolis, MN).This confluence of boats and tropical fruit snacks brought back a memory of a trip to Costa Rica a few years ago. After a lunch of fresh bananas, tropical fruits and broiled fish, we slowly boated down a small river, looking for wildlife, when I felt a tugging on my cap from above. It was a monkey, trying to grab my hat.
I didn't expect any hat-grabbing monkeys while kayaking in the Bay today; but, to honor that mischievous monkey memory, I brought along some "Bananamon" (freeze-dried banana with cinnamon) from Funky Monkey Snacks (Fishers, IN) to add to today's crunchy fruit, nut and chocolate snack mix.
