Purchased from: Abe's Market, online orderToday was Day #4 of Chocolate Brownie Theme Week, and this week I'm focusing on brownie "alternatives" such as this Chocolate Fudge Brownie Organic fruit and nut bar from Julie Bar LLC (Tucson, AZ).
I like buying chocolates with short ingredients lists, and you'd be hard pressed to find a shorter ingredient list than the one on this Julie Bar label: organic dates, organic walnuts and organic cocoa powder. No gluten, dairy, syrups.The resulting product was a soft, chewy brownie bar with a moist date, fruity taste, and some nutty texture and flavor from the walnut pieces.
These individually wrapped bars were perfect for the hike I took today and, since I bought a box of 12, they were also perfect for sharing with others -- people that is, not cows. Cows asked for some, but were denied.
