This dark bar from Cuba was quite good. From what I can gather, most of the cacao on this large island nation is grown in the south/east part of the island, and I'm not sure how this chocolate is made (e.g. in a cooperative). Regardless, this dark bar broke with a loud snap and had nice texture and taste.

In 2006, my daughter bet I couldn't eat a different chocolate each day for a year. I enjoyed that year so much that, after 18+ years, I'm still eating a different chocolate every day. Happily, even after 6,600+ chocolates, there are still many more to try. Thank you to chocolate makers everywhere, and to all who continue to be part of this global adventure.

ChocolateBet: September 5, 2010
Chocolate of the Day:
1 turtle
Tecnoalimentos Caribe Mex., S.A. de C.V.
Cancun - Tortuguitas de Chocolate
Good
Weight: .2 oz. (6 g.) / 1.75 oz. (50 g.) total box/package
Calories: 30 calories (estimate)
Cost: $60.00 Mexican Pesos
Purchased from: Convenience Store, Cancun Aiport, Quintana Roo, Mexico
Yesterday I sampled a milk chocolate dolphin, and today I tried a little (solid milk) chocolate turtle, from a company based in Cancun, Mexico. Judging from the picture on the box (photo to be posted upon my return), these turtles looked very happy snorkeling around the Caribbean. I was a little disappointed to find that little turtle didn't come with a snorkel tube and mask.
