Today was the second day of Chocolate and Coconut Theme Week.

These Mini sized "So Delicious" Coconut Milk, non-dairy frozen dessert bars from Turtle Mountain (Eugene, OR) tasted like a South Pacific version of a Fudgsicle (tm) -- that is, like creamy frozen chocolate mousse on a stick. The coconut flavor was fairly subtle.

It was an uncomfortably hot day today, so a second Mini Fudge Bar followed later this afternoon. At 80 calories for 1 bar, it was easy to justify another bar. Being organic, gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, etc. also made these an easy choice for me.

Today was Day #7 of Chocolate and Almond Theme Week.

Frozen desserts, popsicles and ice cream were perfectly designed for hot summer days. I enjoyed every bite of today's (two) frozen, "So Delicious" Mocha Almond Fudge Minis (bars) from Turtle Mountain, LLC (Eugene, OR).

These cool treats on a wooden stick were good considering that they were almond "milk" based. They had elements of fudge ribbon sweetness, but weren't too sweet. I carefully ate each frozen mini, bite by bite, in the back yard, until I had to run inside and lean over the sink, to prevent shards of frosty chocolate coating from calving onto my shirt. (Just the way I remember eating similar frozen treats when I was young.)

These non-dairy frozen dessert bars were also gluten free, soy free and vegan. (The So Delicious line of products also included dairy-free ice cream and yogurt.)

This organic, non-dairy, soy and gluten free, frozen dessert from Turtle Mountain (Eugene, OR) was made from coconut milk. This variant on chocolate ice cream did have an authentic taste and something of the smooth texture of fresh coconut.

Today was Day # 7 of Chocolate and Mint Ice Cream Theme Week, and Day #2 of Chocolate and Coconut Theme Week. This "So Delicious" brand from Turtle Mountain (Eugene, OR), was tied to a line of soy
free, dairy free, non-dairy frozen desserts made from coconut milk. The Mint Chip was one flavor in this line.

This Mint Chip had a bit of the taste and texture of fresh, frozen coconuts, or at least what I imagined they'd be like in this state. Lower in fat (and calories) than regular ice cream, this coconut milk-based dessert was a cross between a high-end sorbet and a traditional ice cream with butterfat.
