Welcome to Day #1 of Chocolate Brownie Theme Week.

Today's individually-wrapped, cocoa loco, soft baked Chewy Bars from Enjoy Life Natural Brands, LLC (Chicago, IL) were a nice, small size.

These snack bars were, as advertised, soft and chewy, and had a "brownie texture." They were, perhaps most significantly, allergy friendly—made in a dedicated facility and free of a dozen or more common allergens, including gluten, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, soy, egg, sesame and more.

If you have a sweet tooth, you're in luck. These cocoa loco bars were quite sweet. (They were made with an alternative flour blend and sweetened with tapioca syrup, organic cane sugar, chocolate chips and date paste.)

Welcome to Day #10 of Chocolate and Nuts Theme Week.

Today's Larabar Chocolate Coconut Chew bar was distributed by Small Planet Foods, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN). The bar was part of a line of Larabar fruit and nut bars.

This 5-ingredient, compressed bar was quite sweet. The first ingredient listed was "dates;" and dates do have a certain concentrated fruity intensity to them. But, those that like dates, or prefer fruit and fiber over sugar,  may applaud this choice.

The remaining four ingredients were: almonds, walnuts, unsweetened cocoa powder, and unsweetened coconut.

Welcome to Day #2 of Cadbury Chocolate Theme Week.

This Cadbury Picnic candy bar/chocolate bar (from Mondelez International) was stuffed with peanuts, a sort of chewy, crunchy, caramely nougat with raisins somewhere in the mix; and it was covered with milk chocolate.

It was a handy bar to bring along on a hike near San Francisco bay and a climb up a mountain to see a great view after, you guessed it, a short picnic lunch.

The Cadbury Picnic bar was launched in the U.K. in 1958, and decades later (around 2000) was marketed as being "Deliciously ugly." Today's tagline read: "Shake it up with Picnic." How about "Enjoy a great view with Picnic?"
