Today's Black Coffee 67% Dark Chocolate Batch No. 617 (bar) was from Crow & Moss (Petoskey, MI).

This bar was a blend of cacao from Anamalai, India and coffee from Brazil.

Aroma and flavor notes included: dark chocolate (dark, balanced and chocolate-y) and coffee with balanced, slightly sweet, mild earth; mildly acidic coffee; and warm spices.

Texture: relatively smooth, appealing fudge-y like melt.

Maker's description: "Hailing from the Santos Region of Southern Brazil, the coffee beans we use in this deeply earthy chocolate blend are dried within the coffee cherry, infusing a sweet, fruity aroma that pairs well with the rich, fudgy character of the chocolate."

I enjoyed the balanced, complex flavors, and the short list of single origin ingredients.
