A summer Sunday was a perfect day for a drive and a hike by the Pacific Ocean. Thank you to Julie for tasting help and hiking company today. On the way to Point Reyes, CA, we stopped in the town of Fairfax, to pick up coffee and explore. We looked at vintage candies and gum, and catwoman glasses, in the window at the Fairfax Variety store.
And, we couldn't resist checking out a place called the Fat Angel Bakery (Fairfax, CA) -- that had not one but two possible chewy gluten free cookies with chocolate.
I chose Fat Angel's Chocolate Voodoo cookie, a chocolate cookies with bits of dried cherry, and what I believe were almond pieces. (The other cookie was a unique take on a chocolate frosted macaroon, with thicker strips of dried coconut.) Fun place in a fun town. This is the kind of place where locals sit out front on a bench and tell you they wouldn't move from this town for the world.
