2.) Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate! Torte
Weight: ~ 4.6 oz. (120 grams) in one wedge/piece

It's fun to find locally made chocolate items at the Farmer's Market. I enjoyed these gluten-free "health nut" cookies a lot. They are made with almond meal, and they don't have much sugar in them; yet they are very satisfying. The chocolate torte was dense, rich and tasty - just like you'd expect a flourless chocolate hunk of love to be.

ChocolateBet: January 14, 2009

Chocolate of the Day:

1/2 cake
IKEA (Produced in Sweden for IKEA Food Services)
Tarta Mandel (Almond Cake) (sold frozen)
Very Good - especially for a wheat-free cake
Wt.: 6.15 oz. (175 grams) for 1/2 cake/ 12.3 oz. (350 g.) for whole cake
Calories: 750 calories for 1/2 cake
Cost: $4.99 for 1 cake
Purchased from: Ikea store, in Palo Alto, CA

OK, eating half a cake (even a small one like this) is excessive, but I don't often find cake I can eat (as I don't eat gluten, wheat, flour, etc.). So this was pretty darn satisfying. The chocolate ingredient in this cake is cocoa powder.
