Today's Love Crunch Organic Granola Bars Dark Chocolate Macaroon (bar) was distributed by Nature's Path Foods (Blaine, WA). 

The company offers a variety of cereals, granolas, oatmeals and snack bars including a Love Crunch granola and granola bar(s) with chocolate. (Happy Valentines Day month to you all.)

Today's individually-wrapped, Love Crunch Dark Chocolate Macaroon granola bar (that came in a box of 6 bars) was light, crunchy and conveniently portable with a sweet, oat-y aroma and flavor with coconut and chocolate accents (drizzle, chunks). 

The overall sugar level of this bar was a bit sweet for me; but I appreciated the bar's lighter, crunchy texture (think freshly baked oat granola), and the organic ingredients.*

This Organic bar had the satisfying texture of a crunchy cookie without the heavy, corn syrup-like sweetness of a chocolate drizzled coconut macaroon, or the excess butter or oils found in some cookies.

Today's Gorilla Power - Chewy Granola Bar with Chocolate Chips was from Don't Go Nuts (Salida, Colorado).

The kid-sized bar contained organic honey, and was (as advertised) chewy, with semi-crunchy (gluten free) grains (oats, rice) and chocolate chips.

The company specializes in nut-free items. This bar was also gluten free and Certified Organic.

Welcome to Day #9 of Chocolate Chip Week.

Just when we were ready to move on to Costa Rica Theme Week, we stumbled on another chocolate chip item. Often happens. As we live in an abundant chocolate world.

Today's Chocolate Chip with a cause* bar was from This Bar Saves Lives (Culver City, CA). It was a chewy, granola-style bar with mini chocolate chips, and coated with chocolate on one side.

*The company is helping to combat childhood malnutrition with small nutrition packs that can be given to children and families in need in Haiti and Africa.

Welcome to Day #5 of Chocolate Snacks Theme Week.

Today's Nature Valley Dark Chocolate, Peanut and Almond bar from General Mills Sales, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) was surprisingly satisfying, with just the right sweet dark chocolate and nut blend.

It felt lighter and less sweet than a standard chocolate candy bar.

Note: for those who are allergy-prone, this bar (made with partially genetically engineered ingredients) also contained wheat (and barley malt extract) as well as soy, milk and peanut and nut ingredients. At the time of this post, the company also offered at least two bars in their line-up that were gluten-free.
