Welcome to Day #3 of Chocolate and The Philippines Theme Week.
Today's Luna Single Variety 50% chocolate (bar) was produced by Auro Chocolate* (Calamba City, Laguna, Philiippines).
Aroma and flavor notes included: dark milk chocolate, sweet, delicate floral-botanical; diffuse fruit (berry, faint date, and very faint pomegranate molasses; sweet, mild tangerine, grenache grape); and very faint fleeting vegetable (potato chip).
This 50% milk chocolate was very pleasing. The texture was uniform and smooth and became creamier upon melting. The flavors were very pleasant and with a lot of gentle complexity. The choice of a partially processed/unrefined (muscovado) cane sugar contributed additional flavor depth (faint molasses).
