Today's 69% Cacao El Carmen Nicaragua Coffee Premium Dark Chocolate bar with Coffee was from Goodnow Farms Chocolate (Sudbury, MA).
The company offers a variety single origin bars—a few with inclusions from the same origin,* like today's coffee bar.
This bar had the same luscious thick creamy melt and texture as yesterday's 77 percent El Carmen bar (by the same maker); although the coarsely-ground, lightly roasted coffee beans* contributed some fine, well incorporated, grit to the texture.
The coffee also imparted some rich flavor and helped balance out the sugar**, making the chocolate seem bolder, richer (and less sweet) than many 69 percent bars (a good thing if you're a dark chocolate fan).
