Today's Fazenda Boa Vista Milk Chocolate bar was from SOMA Chocolatemaker (Toronto, ON, Canada).
This Academy of Chocolate Silver Winner 2017, 55% milk chocolate bar was made from Brazilian cacao.* It had an aroma with balanced notes of dried fruit, fresh cream, light nut, and very faint mint/herb.The chocolate had a very pleasing dark milk chocolate flavor. (SOMA tasting notes printed on the package read: "Malt, cashews, fresh cream.") And a very, very faint, fleeting, slightly herby aftertaste.
*Fazenda Boa Vista (cocoa farm) is located "on the top of the mountains of Cafundos, a...sanctuary for ancient (120-year old) Amelonado type cacao known as Parazinho."
